Stud in the Stacks by Pippa Grant

Rating – 5

What do you get when you combine a hot guy who loves romance novels, a workaholic who thinks she is still the awkward dork she was in high school, a crazy (but lovable) nana, and unicorn poop? Apparently, you get rom-com perfection. Pippa Grant has officially gained a new fan, because Stud in the Stacks is Rom-Com at its finest! This book had me truly laughing out loud one minute then tugging on my heart strings the next.

This book embraces the romance genre as a whole while telling an interesting story with characters I really cared about and making me laugh so hard the words turned a little blurry. There isn’t a single thing I would change about it.

Knox and Parker shouldn’t work. In many ways, they are complete opposites. Knox is a ladies man who loves romance novels. Parker is an awkward workaholic who can only attract losers. However, when they find themselves in need of a partner, a fake relationship seems like the perfect solution. Knox, being the romance expert he is, knows where this is headed and how to avoid the mistakes that are normally made during a fake relationship, so they should be able to pull this off with ease, right? Parker needs this to work. If she can’t pull off a business deal at her high school reunion, her job may be on the line. But what happens when the lines of make believe begin to blur?

Did I mention this book is completely hilarious? Parker has a knack for sending texts with the best (or worst) possible autocorrects and getting in over her head with the strangest people. Luckily she pulls it all off with grace and poise…or maybe not. Between her mishaps, Nana’s obsession with some very strange books, and some hilarious side characters, you can’t help but laugh out loud while you are reading this book.

You also get some fantastic reading suggestions from Knox and his expertise on romance novels. Looking for a specific trope? Knox has a suggestion for you. I loved the celebration of romance in this book. Grant takes haters on full force in this book, and I loved every second of it!

If you are looking for a fantastically written story that will draw you in and make you laugh, you have to check this out!
