I love absolutely everything about this book! The story and narration are both absolutely perfect! The characters are completely believable. The drama is just right – not angsty, but definitely not flat. And I wanted Amy and Thomas to find their happily-ever-after so badly.
The writing in this book is excellent. I loved the dialogue, the conflict, and the pacing of the story. I loved the choice to use a slightly older couple. Thomas is the epitome of a silver fox, and Amy is smart and lovable. I love that both Thomas and Amy have established, successful lives. They don’t need each other, but they want each other. They have amazing chemistry (seriously, those sparks), and their lives are happier together. I also love that they put their family first. They are parents who don’t let their kids run their lives, but they are respectful, loving parents who will always put the needs of their children first.
The narration for this book is absolute perfection. Sebastian York and Emma Wilder couldn’t be more perfect for Thomas and Amy. They truly become the characters. Their pacing, tone, and mood are perfect, and I love their voices. Once I started listening, I couldn’t stop for anything. This book is an absolute must buy! This is one of the best books I’ve listened to this year!
Life can change in a flash.
Marriage and a baby wasn’t Amy Forsythe’s college plan. After a shotgun marriage glued together by her son, she’s convinced that love isn’t meant for her. Now nearing forty and single for the first time since her senior prom, her friends are pushing her to date. Her teenager isn’t thrilled by the idea and neither is Amy.
Silver fox Thomas Popov isn’t looking for The One. He found her decades ago. And fell apart when she died. At fifty-three with a new job, a new city, and an empty nest, he’s focused on climbing the corporate ladder.
When a softball accident lands Thomas in Amy’s dental chair, sparks fly.
Lightning doesn’t strike twice. But love might.
This time is different.
